History shows that staying true to who you are can come with a heavy price. When we observe the hardships faced by Copts in Egypt, we can see many similarities to the history of the Jewish people.
Both groups share a similar story:
They belong to the land: Both are ancient groups of people who lived in their regions long before modern borders were drawn.
They refused to fade away: Their unique cultures and religions survived major historical changes, foreign invasions, and significant shifts in society.
They became targets: Because they chose to maintain their unique identities instead of blending into the crowd, they often faced persecution from larger groups who wanted everyone to be the same.
